Let
it snow, let it snow, let
snow...
And it did! Mother Nature paid the
mid-Atlantic region a visit and left behind plenty
of the white stuff. Pictured above are John
Meacham and Gary Zimmerman, individuals served at
Bancroft's Judith B. Flicker Residences, who took
the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful winter
landscape. |

And
the winner is... Bancroft!
Bancroft has
received a Nonprofit Innovation Award from NJBIZ,
a statewide business publication. The award was
one of several presented to organizations across
the state on Tuesday, to promote innovative
leadership and thinking in the nonprofit world.
Bancroft won in the category of "Collaboration"
for our partnership with Wawa.
"We are
thrilled to share this special recognition with
Wawa, a wonderful organization that has done so
much with and for Bancroft over many years," says
Bancroft President Toni Pergolin.
In
fact, Bancroft and Wawa have long supported each
other's missions, and Wawa demonstrates its
commitment to Bancroft in many ways - not just
financially, but directly by supporting vocational
training and creating and maintaining a
convenience store at The Bancroft
School. Wawa's strong support ultimately
helps the people we support learn new skills,
participate in the community and lead more
fulfilling lives.
As awards keynote
speaker The Rev. Reginald T. Jackson said, "We
must challenge the status quo... We must
collaborate to strengthen the community
infrastructure... and move forward with
determination."
Pergolin
accepted the honor with Wawa's Jim Shortall and
Donna Dellinger (pictured), before about 400
guests at the awards banquet in Somerset, N.J.
Also present was Lorna Runkle, Bancroft
family member; Colleen Rowan Valentino, Principal
of The Bancroft School at Voorhees Pediatric
Facility; Joan Galon King, Bancroft's Chief
Advancement Officer; Erin Morales of the
Development Team; and Kathy Ross, Vice President
of
Communications.
