Bancroft Day 2008 Extravaganza celebrates 125 years of service

“Happy Birthday Bancroft!” This year’s Bancroft Day is one big birthday party as the organization celebrates 125 years of providing services to children and adults with developmental disabilities, acquired brain injuries and other neurological impairments.

Bancroft Day’s full slate of activities will run from 10:30 am – 3 pm, Saturday, October 18 on Bancroft’s campus at Kings Highway and Hopkins Lane. Activities include live music and dancing, BBQ lunch, horseback rides, ice sculpting and live performances from Joyful Noise, a choral group of adults with developmental disabilities, the “Extensions” dance troupe from the Core Academy of Music and music from the School of Rock. Kids can enjoy free make-and-take crafts, games and prizes. Proceeds from refreshments and sale of artwork, crafts and Bancroft’s own line of lotions and soaps made by those served will benefit Bancroft programs.

A Bancroft community parade will begin at 10:30 am on Kings Highway, Haddonfield from Borough Hall at 242 Kings Highway E to Bancroft Campus at Hopkins Lane.

Free trolley service is provided linking Bancroft Day festivities and the Haddonfield Fall Festival.

Rain date is Sunday, October 19, noon – 4 pm.
