Butterfly Ball a Smashing Success!
About 250 supporters dined, danced and socialized Saturday night at Bancroft's 16th annual Butterfly Ball. And thanks to these generous family members, staff, persons served, community members and corporate sponsors, the event surpassed its goal, raising $310,000 in gross revenue (total income). In fact, this year's net revenue (income minus expenses) is expected to exceed last year's gross revenue by 34 percent.
Our biggest fund-raiser of the year was a very special evening with inspiring remarks and praise by a wide range of supporters - from family members, staff and Board members, to well - known philanthropists.
Bancroft's president, Toni Pergolin, recognized families in attendance with the Family Star Award, while former NFL coach Dick Vermeil, chair of the event, helped to honor two key benefactors: former U.S. Ambassador to Finland Marilyn Ware who received the Margaret Bancroft Award, and Paul Viens of Medical Data Management was presented with our Corporate and Community Leadership Award.
We also extend our appreciation to the dinner co-chairs: Lynda and Stewart Resnick, Paul Viens, and Joanne and Raymond Welsh, and vice-chairs Barbara and Sheldon Berkman, Lindsay and Evan Roth, Randee and Ken Rubenstein, and Keith Pote Sr. Plus, very special thanks to our Butterfly Ball Committee members who worked tirelessly to ensure the event's success: co-chairs Barbara and Sheldon Berkman, and Claudia Connolly and Tom Hayevy, and members Lisa Alberts, Laura Atkinson, Sherry Lee Bezzek, Martin Bieber, Cynthia Boyer, Dianne Breininger, Virginia Carson, Karen Johnson, Harriet Sharlin, Karen Stone, Barbara Tarditi, and Gale Wills.
